PARIS — The prestigious Salon Comparaisons, a cornerstone of the French art world since its inception, will host the debut of its newest collective, ExtropART, during Art Capital 2026. Held at the Grand Palais from February 12 to 15, 2026, the exhibition marks a new chapter for the Salon, which has historically served as a battleground and showcase for the most influential movements in modern art.

A Legacy of Artistic Revolution: Salon Comparaisons As one of the four salons comprising Art Capital, Salon Comparaisons is renowned for its unique structure of 38 distinct artistic groups, each representing a specific style or philosophy. Over the decades, it has been a sanctuary for icons of the avant-garde, exhibiting works by masters such as Pablo Picasso, Salvador Dalí, René Magritte, Man Ray, Yves Klein, Max Ernst, and Niki de Saint-Phalle.

By maintaining its commitment to a “confrontation” of styles, the Salon continues to be a vital institution in Paris, even as it navigates a changing landscape where traditional salons face pressure from more commercialized art fairs. The inclusion of ExtropART continues this tradition of welcoming disruptive and visionary schools of thought.
